Hello yes I am still breathing and yes my heart is still pumping the same German blood : ). So I was thinking randomly as I often do and and one thought captured my attention . The thought was, what would you if you and everybody else you knew were forced out of your house and left without a car. How would you live? So then this really got me thinking of what survivel skills I know of and I have been found wanting. But as far as I can think of how I would live I would defiantly want to live by a stream or fresh water source so that I can grow veggies , and then I would use the water also to make lye from the ashes of our fire and would also use the fat off the critters we catch to mix in with the lye and make Lye soap. But then comes all the work in between that i do not think of such as how would you get the seeds for you plants, what would you use to kill the little critters, how would you start a fire, and before you had soap what would you use to bath with. I would like to think that I could just use lavender or rosemary water since they have antibacterial properties in them but then were would I get the leaves..
What would you do or do you never worry or think of such things ?
My oh my I shall just have to keep thinking and learning.
Then on a more positive note, we have wrapped many presents and hath lade them out by our slightly out of tune Piano. As i observe the bounty which has been set out I cannot help but feel blessed. God has truly blessed us beyond measure. So many time we think that out life is hard but the holidays always prove that we live in much higher luxury than some. for instance we complain about not enough money , but always sit down to eat supper, We say that we work so hard , as we fill our dishwashers. I think its time that we step back and see how truly blessed we are this season.
Speaking of blessings I am so happy about my chickens right now it is so mush fun to go out side and whatch them scurry about pecking at grass and the dirt. To watch my silkies running about like little fluff balls. I cannot wait to have my cottage out in the woods some day with my front yard filled with chickens..
Until next time
